MWL12 Tournament Rules

General Tournament Rules
-All matches must begin no later then 10 minutes past the start time posted/announced during the LAN. An announcement will be made as to what time the first round of matches are to begin for each tournament.
-If a match does NOT start within the 10 minutes, a protest may be brought forward to the tournament admin (who is generally myself) and a forfeit may be awarded or a time extension may be granted (or the match schedule changed). Basically, the only valid reason for not starting a match on time is if something goes wrong on our end, or if our network hardware is not working. It is NOT a valid reason if it is an issue with your computer (unless it's basically on fire), or if you do not have the game installed/patched by the time the tournament begins. We've got a lot of tournaments, and we don't want to be three hours behind.
-If you are playing in one tournament, do not play in/register in a tournament that will be happening at the exact same time.

Though if it's an issue where Steam/Valve releases a patch the day of the LAN, then we'll reevaluate. But otherwise, and I will say this a thousand times from now until the LAN - HAVE ALL THE GAMES INSTALLED, PATCHED, AND WORKING CORRECTLY BY THE LAN.

-We reserve the right to change the rules/formats as needed at the event.
-All admin rulings are FINAL.

This will be a constantly updated thread as I get the rules/maps for the tournaments together.

In the events page COD4 is listed as being S&D. Seriously? The whole reason to play COD4 as the alternate tournament is for people who don't want to play CS. COD4 S&D is basically CS with a different game engine, like CS 1.6, CS:S and CS:COD4.

I'll be looking into some changes for this depending on the layout. Since the numbers are down now, things may change in terms of rules and tourney formats to maximize playing time.

But Zap Promod is S&D.

Whatever you do Alex, please keep a good format like ProMod. I dont want 55's owning us level 1's.

I just reformatted and my backed up profile is NOT WORK at all. Also just built ethans PC and he just got the game yesterday.

I was ready for promod, since you get 4 classes and levels mean jackshit.

So yeah, some kind of a format like that would be great.

To recover a backed up COD4 profile, I've found this to work:
1) Install COD4.
2) Run it once in Multiplayer and create a profile with the same name as your backed up profile.
3) Overwrite new profile with backup.
4) Run it again to verify that you have recovered old profile.
5) Patch game to latest version.

I've found that if you patch the game first, it will NOT accept your old profile no matter what.

To balance the game, why not just tell everyone to use stock classes only? AFAIK what level you are makes no difference if you select a stock class.
